Nokia Java Runtime 2.0 presents more issues than innovations
Nokia has recently changed their own policy regarding the JavaME runtime, the virtual machines needed to execute the Java applications on S60 mobile phones. The Finnish company has indeed made a beta of the version 2.0 available for the S60 5th Edition smartphones, claiming that the new version would bring a lot of benefits, including the possibility of installing an application with one single click and better performances as well.
However, the comments from users came soon, and not all very positive either. It seems, indeed, that the runtime is too heavy on the memory and presents issues regarding the TCP/IP management in many of the midlets that use internet. So it seems better to wait before doing the update.
