The Package
The package that features the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic doesn’t have a lot of interesting features, only the basics: the phone, battery, battery recharger, headphones, mini DVD with the connectivity software, cable and manuals. Of course, the 8GB microSD cannot be “seen” within the package as it’s pre-installed inside the phone, although it doesn’t have any adapter or a little case to store it in case it’s needed.
The cable is very short, a little more than 10cm, which makes it hard to connect to some devices. The good thing though is that the cellphone can be recharged through the cable, so it’s a positive side to it. The headphones aren’t exactly comfortable either, and we’d have expected something better for a cellphone that calls itself “XpressMusic”.

Whether it’ll be a sensation or not, we don’t know, but Nokia has recently announced the new bluetooth headphones BH-905. It was designed for the more demanding customer, who wants good sound quality, and it follows the design of old headphones, but with the modern wireless technologies.
Nokia has adopted the Wolfson Microeletronic system, supporting 10 integrated microphones: 8 that identify and eliminate the background sound, and 2 that capture the voice. It also has integrated multimedia commands, supports the “plane” mode and the classic wired connection with 3,5mm or 2.5mm jacks.
The price is set at €285 and it should be available in August.

The multimedia player present on the device supports mp3, AAC, AAC+, WMA and others. It also features an FM radio with Visual Radio support, which allows users to interact with radio stations through contests, polls and more (the availability depends on the phone company).
The Nokia N78 also has an integrated GPS with the Nokia Maps applications pre-installed and with the possibility of downloading new maps for free for three months. There’s also an Office viewer and the internal memory has 70MB and it’s expandable through microSD cards.
The battery guarantees 320 hours in standby and 260 minutes in conversation mode. The package includes the battery recharger, headphones, an USB cable and a 2GB microSD card.

The internal memory features 35MB and it’s expandable with microSD cards for a total of 2GB, allowing users to save a very good quantity of pictures, video and songs. The battery guarantees 3.1 hours of conversation in GSM mode, and 2.4 hours in UMTS, while its standby duration is up to 9 hours.
The package that comes with the Nokia 6120 Classic includes the CD-ROM with Nokia’s software, a battery recharger, stereo headphones and an USB cable.

The Nokia Magnifier, developed by the Nokia Accessibility Team and released in beta version a few days ago, is an application that uses the photocamera on the S60 smartphones to transform it into a true magnifier. It also features a stabilizer that reduces tremors and a negative filter that makes images more readable in darker ambients.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work on the N95, N95 8G, N82 and E90 models. And those telephones that do not feature the auto-zoom on their photocamera, it isn’t compatible, unfortunately. But an interesting addition, nonetheless, to those that can use it on their cellphones.
Here’s a video of the Nokia Magnifier. Enjoy!

One of the least known Nokia accessories is maybe one of the more useful ones too: the Nokia SU-33 is a DVB-H receiver that allows the visualization of digital TV on some compatible devices, such as the Nokia N73.
The receiver, in fact, connects itself to the cellphone via bluetooth and allows the viewing of some channels (paid and free) from the user’s mobile phone company. Recently the N85 and N70 have been made compatible as well, by downloading an application from the Download section on those models.
It seems that Nokia is willing to launch a feature that wasn’t very used initially because of the high costs imposed by phone companies. The accessory, called Mobile TV Receiver SU-33W is buyable online with different prices according to the stores.
